Truth North Roofing founder and CEO, Sarah Lechowich, began her business in 2021 with ample experience under her tool belt. A third-generation contractor, she has previously served as a senior director at the Construction Careers Foundation, as a partner in another roofing company, and an adjunct professor at North Hennepin Community College and UW-River Falls.
In only its third year of business, True North’s annual revenue has grown to more than $4 million. Lechowich believes “we do better when we all do better,” and she chooses to contract with women, people of color, and gender non-conforming individuals.
As a part of her aim to create an inclusive atmosphere, Lechowich regularly mentors other women in construction and speaks nationally on diversity and inclusion efforts. Sarah works every day to create the kind of company that demonstrates and communicates respect—to employees and customers alike. Among her other achievements, Lechowich currently serves on the national events planning committee for National Women in Roofing and is the 2023 incoming chair for the organization’s Minnesota chapter. She also recently became a board member of the Contractors Association of Minnesota.
