Cory served in the U.S. Air Force right out of high school and spent most of his time in Iraq and Afghanistan. While serving, a mortar hit and left him deaf in one ear. He is currently working on a rig in south Louisiana and is only able to come home once a month while his wife, who is also a veteran, cares for their two young children.
